Indian Companies Want to Invest in Slovakia

BRATISLAVA, February 26, (WEBNOVINY) – Concrete Indian companies have declared interest to invest in Slovakia, Foreign Affairs Minister Mikulas Dzurinda said for SITA newswire. Dzurinda is attending the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of Kuwait’s liberation from Iraqi occupation and has held bilateral talks with Indian External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna devoted to economic cooperation. “There are concrete Indian companies that are interested in investing in Slovakia,” Dzurinda said. However he refused to specify the field of their business. The minister underscored that India is Slovakia’s strategic and bilateral partner. During the talks, Dzurinda also mentioned Slovak producers of traditional goods that would like to start out business in India.

The minister is slated to meet his Kuwaiti partner Sheikh Mohammad Al-Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. “Kuwait is the only country in the Gulf that has opened its embassy in Slovakia. I want to invite my colleague to come to open it and sign important treaties,” Dzurinda elaborated ahead of the meeting. The above treaties concern elimination of double taxation and mutual investment protection. Moreover, Slovakia would like to see a memorandum of understanding signed between the Slovak and Kuwaiti Health Ministries.
